OUR STORY
Taradha is a family run farm that has inherited the practice of agriculture from the generations before it. The name is a homage to our ancestors, Tara and Radha Raman. Nestled in the foothills of the Kaimur hills in Bihar, we work with a small community of farmers to grow sustenance that goes beyond feeding the body to preserving the environment, culture and traditions of the land.
As farmers for years, we’ve experienced the hardships that dominate the Indian farming landscape. Environmental, social and economic challenges continue to persist for grassroots farming communities, despite being a bedrock of Indian society.
It’s time to rethink the wheel. To do things differently. A way where everyone benefits.
We envision a community that is well nourished and supported by a network of empowered and sustainable farming while cultivating a regenerative ecosystem. This is our endeavour and we hope you’ll join us!

Our values are rooted in upholding high standards in quality of process and product, strengthening community and building equitable practices, and being custodians of the resources provided by Mother Earth.

objective
Environment and Ecology
At Taradha, we practice an integrated approach to farming that includes agroecological practices. Part of Taradha has been cultivated organically for 5+ years while the remaining will be completed by 2029. The fundamental objective of the conversion is to improve the ecological balance of biodiversity, regenerate soil health by increasing organic matter and produce crops that are nutritionally enriched, free of harmful chemicals.
In addition to agricultural practices, we also operate a fishery, cattle husbandry, and a small food forest. These practices have created an oasis of rich biodiversity of great synergy.

OBJECTIVE
Health and Welbeing
We believe that health is the sum of parts – physical, mental, environmental, where food plays a central role. Our produce is mindfully and passionately cultivated, ensuring a great blend of quality, flavour and nutrition.
All our products have their health benefits listed so you know how they are contributing to your health.

OBJECTIVE
Education, Empowerment and Sustainable Livelihood
Our mission is to strengthen ethical and sustainable food production systems and act as a medium for education, knowledge exchange and social change.
Through partnerships with organizations such as Krishi Vigyan Kendra, we host workshops and training sessions to build capacity for the local community, sharing information about sustainable farming methodologies.
We employ local villagers to support our operations, creating opportunities for economic growth and financial autonomy for women.
OUR IMPACT
-
Food Forest & Green Cover
At Taradha, over 300 fruiting and flowering trees make up a thriving food forest. You'll find mango, banana, guava, Indian gooseberry, mulberry, moringa, and more. The land is made lush by trees like neem, gulmohar, teak, Indian rosewood, mahogany and more, creating a rich and diverse ecosystem.
-
Bees & Birds
Our farm is home to a variety of bees and birds that support pollination and ecological balance. You might spot white-breasted waterhens, spotted owlets, greater coucals, parakeets, magpie robins, hoopoes, and red-whiskered bulbuls—some of Kaimur’s finest. If you’re visiting, bring your binoculars!
